A [CHANGE] Has Come~"This is our Moment, this is our Time"

In my lifetime I have seen many things, and in my lifetime I am privileged enough to stand on the actions of those you came before me and say that I have never experienced racism to my face, I have never been told that because of the color of my skin I am a second class citizen, and because I exercised my right to vote I can wake up and say for once in my life: I love my President-Elect.

Speaking to a crowd of over 250,000 people in Chicago, Illinois and millions across the world, President-elect Barack Obama delivered one of the best speeches he has ever given and accepted his victory and his place in history. However, in true Obama fashion, he did not talk about himself or what he was going to do; instead Obama talked about what WE as a country have to do and how WE must accept this victory as our own. Today is a new day in American history, and I am ready to get to work and work for a Change that will make a way for me, for my future children, and for my children's children.

Here is the speech from last night. "Every time I watch this speech I will always remember how far we have truly come, and how far we can go from here." Bernadine J. Howard (my mother)
