And This Is Why I Fell Out Of Love With Rap Music

I was recently checking out one of my new favorite blogs Naked with Socks On, and I came across this video he was posting on. The video is by an up and coming rapper named Rondon and his song is called "Strangest Places." Not only is this song wrong in so many ways, the actual video is disgusting, misogynistic, and another way in which today's men in hip-hop feel the need to degrade women to make themselves look more masculine.

Anyway if you can stomach the video it check out the video below, and let me know (men and women) how you feel about this video.

I can't believe what I just saw. I can't believe that someone would release a video that disgusting. The way he had those women appearing to be giving him head was so degrading. He needs to be checked for that. I'm glad we're letting the world know this is wrong but, a part of me feels bad for bringing this video to the forefront.

I have certain feelings about this video.. I almost feel like music is not going to get any better. To even see our very own women degrading themselves is one thing...blasting it all over youtube and the world is another. I think these women AND these men need to take some time out and look at what the hell they are putting out for people to see. DISGRACE.

After watching this video it was defintely dishearting. As much as I like to support Rap music or all music for that matter it makes me want to take a step back. When videos like this surface its hard as woman to feel appreciated. It really makes you question where rap music's future is headed. I was jsut beginning to notice that many rappers where headed in a new direction. I know that this only 1 video but im sure there a several more out there like this. After November 4th and January 20th with our new President in place we were finally making a new step into a new future. I still beleive we as African Americans are will still make it this was just another reminder why we have to and will have success. YES WE CAN!
