After a challenging U.S Open in which she had to face both her sister and the powerhouse Russian Safina, Serena Williams outlasted Serbian Jelena Jankovic to win her 9th Grand Slam title and her 3rd U.S Open title. I am really a fan of tennis and I have always loved Serena even when she was rocking those beads shudders). The match was close at times with both women breaking each other on serve, but in the end it was my Serena who was jumping for joy in the end. I loved it even more when they handed her trophy and her check for 1.5 million dollars. Now with her money, her trophy, and her man (Common, who was also spotted around the tournament last week) Serena also got the added bonus of jumping from the world's number 4 in tennis to the number 1 ranking. With Serena being back to her healthy self and as the top female tennis player in the land I will expect great things from her from here on out.
