Andre Leon Talley Welcomes Michelle To The Couture Life

Michelle Obama appears on the cover of Vogue's March issue in a Jason Wu design—the same designer who created her inauguration gown. In the issue, the first lady is featured in pieces from her own wardrobe by boldface names like J. Crew and Narciso Rodriguez. Photographer Annie Leibovitz snapped Mrs. Obama. From Wall Street Journal: Mrs. Obama addresses the fashion fishbowl that she now lives in, given that blogs and media are tracking every sartorial decision she makes. “I’m not going to pretend that I don’t care about it,” she said to Vogue, according to the AP. “But I also have to be very practical. In the end, someone will always not like what you wear — people just have different tastes.”

I wasn't too impressed with the actual pictures in the spread. I admire her clothing preferences, though.

I like the fact that Michelle Obama wears clothes that are not only fashion-forward but affordable. It's all about the dollar in 09. The Look for Less; Go Off Michelle!

i think that the pictures, especially the last one, are too posed. However, I love Mrs. Obama regardless
